Story
Anne was diagnosed with cancer at the end of October 2018 and her wish was to spend her remaining time and ultimately pass on at home. Anne was placed on the terminal pathway at the beginning of February 2019 but wished to reach two very important dates, our Goddaughters 21st birthday in March and the renewal of our wedding vows on our wedding anniversary in April. With her usual tenacity Anne managed get to both events but finally left us at the beginning of May.
I feel that it was only through the care and support of a number of agencies, including Herriot Hospice whose carers went that extra mile in care and support to us both, that Anne was able to achieve her wishes.
Herriot Hospice have continued to provide me care and support in coming to terms with Anne's loss and I wanted to do something to help repay them for everything they have done for us.
I decided that having a public waxing would have made Anne smile, in that due to being hairy everywhere but the top of my head, she sometimes joked that she would know I was up to no good if lost my body hair. The event is planned to take place in the radiology department at the Friarage Hospital at 12 o'clock on the 9th of March 2020.
