For over 45 years Phyllis Tuckwell has been supporting and caring for patients and families who have been given the worst possible news in West Surrey & North East Hampshire. We rely on the support of our community as we have to raise over £30,000 every day to continue our amazing services.

Story

<p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; color: #000000;">Hi,</span> </span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">My Mission of <strong>6 Half Marathons in 10 weeks </strong>on behalf of the <strong>Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice </strong>was accomplished on 21st November; with&nbsp;the&nbsp;<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>6th and final race in Gosport completed in 1:51:16</strong></span>, a new PB!!!!! </span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">Great to have Adele&nbsp;&amp; Tom running, and to have my amazing Trainer for emotional support. Who was supporting who remains questionable :-) </span><span style="color: #000000;">And as usual&nbsp;here's the&nbsp;finish video: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dXUqxrWmGI">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dXUqxrWmGI</a></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">All this effort has been in aid of t</span><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">he Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice (PTH).....a little corner of Farnham in Hants that quietly gives so very much to so many, just when it's needed! My Dad spent a few weeks here last Autumn when the pain of his cancer became too much. The wonderful staff helped manage his drugs, got him back eating, relaxed, smiling and talking; and most importantly they restored his dignity and got him back home with us where he wanted to be.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">But the hospice reaches beyond immediate care; it&rsquo;s about aftercare too....PTH continues to provide comfort and support for my family and others long after we have lost our loved ones; it&rsquo;s just great to know it&rsquo;s there. <strong>So if you are able to help, this would be greatly appreciated.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">For the statisticians amongst you the race times were as follows:</span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>12th Sept - Chippenham Half Marathon</strong> <em>(dedicated to Laurie) <strong><span style="color: #ff1493;">2hrs 02mins 25secs</span></strong></em></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>19th Sept - Farnham Half Marathon <em><span style="color: #ff1493;">2hrs 10mins 06secs</span></em></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>3rd Oct - Cricklade Half Marathon</strong> </span><span style="color: #ff1493;"><em><strong>1</strong></em></span><em><strong><span style="color: #ff1493;">h</span><span style="color: #ff1493;">r 55mins 11secs</span></strong></em></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>17th October - Cardiff Half Marathon <span style="color: #ff1493;"><em>1hr 51mins 40secs</em></span></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>24th October - Stroud Half Marathon <em><span style="color: #ff1493;">1hr 54mins 26secs</span></em></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>21st November - Gosport</strong></span>&nbsp;<strong>Half Marathon</strong> <em>(Dedicated to my Dad, Peter!) <span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>1hr 51mins 16secs</strong></span></em></p> <p> <p>I know my target looks ambitious, but to give it perspective a new&nbsp;all singing all dancing&nbsp;bed&nbsp;costs &pound; 2,500 ......so I'm hoping to cover this with a little to spare!&nbsp;&nbsp;Although my primary focus is PTH,&nbsp;my family will&nbsp;personally be&nbsp;matching 20% of the all monies raised as a separate donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.</p> <p>Many thanks, Mr G and The Trainer :-)</p> <p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> </p>
