500 miles - Give WAY to Summer

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the course of the next 3 months (1st July 2020 to 30th September 2020) I am challenging myself to walk a total of 500 miles.
I like to think of it as a play on the film “500 Days of Summer” or as one fellow widow said “It’s the Proclaimers Challenge”.
My positive approach to embracing widowhood includes losing weight and getting fit and raising some much-needed funds for a charity very close to my heart - WAY Widowed and Young. The charity provides bereavement support to people that lose their husband/wife/partner at the age of 50 or under.
Many of you know how WAY has helped me on my bereavement
journey after losing my soulmate and wife of 20 years, Sue, to cancer, on Christmas Day in 2019. She wanted me to crack on with life and she would be so proud that I am doing this.
Through WAY I have become a Volunteer Area contact for
Suffolk, to give something back to the charity and by raising funds over the summer I’ll be giving even more back to help others like myself particularly those struggling through those early months.
Coronavirus and lockdown has been somewhat unreal for all of
us and WAY, like so many other charities, has suffered financially due to fundraising events being cancelled because of the pandemic.
I am asking if you can, please, to dig deep in your pockets, and make a small donation to this wonderful charity, even if it’s just a few pence, to help others, who, like me, have been or are still struggling to live and rebuild a life having lost their world.
Thank you
Paul
