Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A little over 2 years ago I come up with the crazy idea to run a 1/2 marathon before I was 40, so I did :) Since then, I've ran another 2 plus covered the distance on many other occasions. I'd like to say the logical step is to move onto a marathon, but it's not..... it's not in the least bit logical. Logic doesn't even belong in the same sentence as marathon. Lots of people have spent a lot of time and money over the ages, trying to help the majority of us not have to cover 26.2miles on foot.
But when the 1st Liverpool Rock N Roll Marathon was announced, it seemed quite fitting and the time frame was about right. I jumped in, and here I am, just over 18 months since I ran my first 1/2, and 1 month away from my first full :) It's a long and lonely road out there training for that distance, but It'll be worth it :) But seeing as I've gone to a lot of effort in training and preparing for the event, I thought I'd try to get some good out of it all, other than me completing a marathon.
I've chosen Prostate Cancer UK to try to raise some much needed funds for, with prostate cancer being only just behind breast cancer in the mortality rate, yet miles behind in support and exposure. Here's my little bit to help.
Some facts on Prostate Cancer.
As with all cancers, something needs to be done, and that something needs to be sooner, before there is no later.
