Story

On Sunday 18th July I'll be at Lush Hair Lab Liverpool, 38-46 Church Street, offering hair appointments in exchange for donations to GYRO Liverpool, which helps LGBT+ youth in Liverpool - part of Liverpool's Young Persons Advisory Service (YPAS).

Appointments will be on a first-come first-served basis, and please book by sending me a message on Instagram @patrickwilson. You can of course donate even if you can't book an appointment.

I wanted to raise money to do something to help following the recent attacks on LGBT+ individuals in Liverpool, which have been absolutely heartbreaking to see. It's so important that people have a safe space to go to where they can seek advice and help.

When I was younger, my friend and I were subjected to a homophobic attack by a gang, but I never felt comfortable speaking out about it. The recent stories being shared in the press and social media about LGBT+ people being attacked brought those memories back, and show that more needs to be done to ensure Liverpool's streets are safe for everyone regardless of their sexuality, race, religion or gender.

I truly hope we can put a stop to the terrible attacks happening in the city.
