Nick's devotion to the Earth started when he was 17, in 1963, when he took a holiday job with an organic gardener. He stayed true to that path all his life. He died suddenly on May 18th 2021, of a stroke, in the middle of his beautiful garden, while doing his evening routine of watering polytunnels and shutting in hens.

He was an early supporter of Soil Association Scotland, which set up an office in 2002. These funds will contribute to projects in Scotland.
