Story
Hi all :)
I am taking the ultimate challenge by walking over hot coals! I am doing the Firewalk to raise funds for Black Country Women's Aid.
Every year, I try and take an off-beaten path and give back to the world that's given me so much love!
In the last few years, I have:
• Volunteered to serve as Coventry City of Culture 2021 City Host
• Abseiled Coventry cathedral
• Took part in 22 kms trek in Epping Forest (Strong Women Trek) for Stylist Magazine
• Coached many people to help them heal and live their dream lives
To be honest, I am scared to walk on fire. But I am gonna take a leap of faith and be brave, to raise funds for a noble cause.
All funds raised will help us to make a space to heal for families escaping domestic abuse! Please donate generously to support my intention, effort, and noble cause I am raising funds for.
Why choose to raise funds for Black Country Women's Aid?
BCWA strives to give families leaving refuge a helping hand in turning an empty house into a home. Monies raised will buy basic but essential items we all take for granted such as curtains, bedding, kettle, toaster, cutlery, microwave, towels, fridge, crockery, pots and pans etc.BCWA has been supporting victims of all types of abuse for over 30 years.
Last year over 13,000 adults and children were referred to us for help to escape living in fear, overcome trauma and rebuild their lives.
How your fundraising helps
Your fundraising supports us to make safe spaces for adults and children fleeing abuse to start new lives free from fear.
This year, we are fundraising to:
Make a space to heal by building new refuge for people with physical disabilities escaping domestic abuse and modern slavery.
Last year’s Firewalk made £14,000 and with your help we can raise even more.
• £20,000 could pay for all the doors and windows in our new refuge bungalows
• £16,000 could pay for a bathroom in each bungalow with special adaptations for people with reduced mobility and other disabilities
• £15,000 could pay for moving on essentials for around 30 families leaving refuge. Families can choose what they need from bunk beds, bed linen, sofa, table, washing machine chairs, wallpaper, paint etc.
