Story
Recently, one of the directors from Platinum Property Partners (PPP), Richard, founded a morning running club. Richard has taught us to find joy in running, by working at a lower heart rate and burning fat as opposed to sugar. We currently run in what we like to call the "Fun Zone", anything below 145 bpm. Wearing a heart rate monitor has allowed us to pace ourselves and run consistently, for a lot longer. On average we run 4 mornings a week before work and normally achieve 4 miles per day. We have found that running with friends and colleagues, motivates us to get up in the morning as we meet at 6.45am. We run at a pace where we are able to talk and enjoy the exercise. We all agree that we used to see running as a chore, but have now grown to love the reward it gives us. We hope that this fundraising opportunity may encourage participants to take up running on a more regular basis.
Earlier on this year, Platinum Property Partners (PPP) cycled over 874 miles, simulating the journey from Lands End to John O'Groats and raised over a thousand pounds for Red Nose Day.
Due to the success of this event and recent interest in running amongst staff, we have decided to set a challenge of a 5K relay run. For every working day in October, a member of Platinum Business Centre will run 5K between Bournemouth and Boscombe Pier. They will be joined by regular runners from PPP that are overseeing the event, therefore there should be a group of 3-4 participating.
Completing 5K will be a challenge, especially at that time of the morning. So PPP would like your help to raise money for Children in Need. Any donations are appreciated and we welcome anyone who wants to join in or spectate at this event.
