Story
I became an ambassador for PFC Ethiopia when I saw and heard of the amazing work a very small charity managed to do.
They enable women to run their own businesses so that they become selfsufficient.
They support children with breakfast to ensure 1 meal before school support.
They have returned 1000 orphaned children back to their homes after the famines in the 80s. Not easy when whole villages disappeared due to the famines of the past,
Now they are supporting displaced families due to civil unrest and also the 2020 Covid crisis.
Concentrating on a part of Ethiopia that was stigmatised by historical cases of plague. They are working with selected villages so that whole communities become more selfsufficient.
The UK Charity has 1 paid staff, and the rest volunteer their time.
My son and I both enjoy being ambassadors as he and his fellow fundraising friends get to appreciate how different life can be, when we live such a priviledge one.
Most of all they learn the value of helping and caring for an unknown stranger.
Kindness is learned behaviour.
We will be sharing our fundraising efforts during the year.
