Story
Our Blue Light Emergency Services, including Ambulance, Fire and Police respond to thousands of 999 calls every day, saving lives and being there for us all, in our most extreme of circumstances.
The British Police Symphony Orchestra invites you to join over 300 performers to show your appreciation and become part of #Team999.
Featuring a full symphony orchestra, internationally acclaimed classical pianist, Benjamin Frith and massed police choirs, under the socially distanced baton of Musical Director, Dr Richard Jenkinson, Rick Wakeman’s sparkling Dance of a Thousand Lights has been put together as part of a unique fundraising initiative.
During the COVID19 Pandemic many brave women and men in our blue light teams have had to deal with all of the mental health challenges posed by the lockdown as well as pushing themselves to protect and support all members of the public.
As restrictions change, they are now running on adrenaline. At some point they will need to sit down, switch off and let someone else help and respond to their needs, as they have responded to ours.
You can be a part of it whilst also raising valuable funds for PC David Rathband’s, The Blue Lamp Foundation.
The foundation celebrates its 10th Anniversary in October and was established by the late, PC David Rathband, after he was shot and injured on duty with Northumbria Police in July 2010. David’s legecy continues to provide support for all of our emergency services personnel who have experienced physical and mental trauma in the line of duty.
