16/05/20 update: on Manda’s birthday we are delighted to share that Anthony has left hospital to the applause of the incredible NHS teams. After 50 days at Salford Royal he’s being moved to rehabilitation facility nearer home. The next part of the journey will be lots of hard work but we know Anthony will be a star. 

Manda & Dee both have May birthdays & instead of birthday gifts we are asking for donations.

From my mum: On 27th March my younger brother Anthony started a journey which seemed to be of one of no return: Covid 19. 

The team in Salford Royal Critical Care Unit (CCU) fought hard to save him, never giving up despite the weeks and weeks in an induced coma and reliant on a ventilator. 

Thanks to their excellent care and for going above and beyond Anthony will recover. Over the last 7 weeks doctors, nurses & physiotherapists all helped him through and for that we are eternally grateful.

They gave Anthony his life back. They gave us Anthony back.

With rehabilitation in the next few weeks he will gain his voice back and will walk again, to eventually return home. 

The care and support from the CCU communications team helped us through those dark weeks with their care and compassion. 

In gratitude for their support we are fund raising for the CCU projects in Anthony’s name.
