We train Medical Alert & Bio Detection Dogs to save lives by detecting human disease

Story

Emily developed a Neurological condition as a teenager, she can collapse, unconscious at any time, without warning. Despite the NHS's best efforts, there's nothing they can do to help with Emily yet.

Faced with being almost housebound, Emily played the sympathy card to convince her parents to buy her a dog. Emily fell in love with a Hungarian Vizsla puppy who arrived and was named Barna Kutya (Brown Dog in Hungarian). After a while, they all noticed Barna would behave strangely before Emily's collapses. After much research, they contacted Medical Detection Dogs who trained Barna to utilise his amazing nose to give Emily a 5 minute warning of an impending collapse. He's a life saver to Emily on a regular basis, she can now go out on her own, knowing that Barna will give her the opportunity to find a place of safety, before her next collapse. You can imagine how reassuring that is for her family.

Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to save lives using their amazing sense of smell. Dogs are the best bio-sensors. They can detect odours as tiny as a teaspoon of sugar in 2 Olympic sized swimming pools. With your help we can train more of these amazing dogs, so our Medical Alert Dogs can help more people with complex healthcare needs live safe in the knowledge they have a furry life-saver by their side and do more research to give medics the tools they need for faster, more reliable, non-invasive diagnosis of cancer and other diseases including Covid 19.

I'm helping Emily and her family to raise money to enable Medical Detection Dogs to train more dogs to help more people.
