Help Madina Institute, Oldham, Masjid and Community Hub through Financial Hardship

Madina Institute, Oldham, Masjid and Community Hub has been opened for 5 years now , based in Oldham, Clarksfield. The whole ethos/idea behind the institute was to establish a model masjid that reflects the prophetic masjid of Madina, a place of love, warmth, openness , that caters for the social, academic and spiritual needs of everyone , particularly the younger generation.

Over the last 5 years the institute has made huge impact within the community through its services and offerings , having established a nursery , masjid, youth club , charity hub and delivered a wide array of services that range from mental health workshops to community barbeques, bringing together people from all walks of life.

Its efforts have been recognised nationally and as a result several institutes have adopted aspects of their model, they have won 2018 beacon mosque award for most innovative service in uk, several awards from local mayors and received recognition/awards for their charity efforts, particularly through the covid where they have delivered over 9000 food parcels to vulnerable and needy families and helped many refugees from war torn countries settle here and support them….
Since the covid, the masjid has been severely impacted with reduced numbers at the madrassah and still not recovered due loss of income via postponement of street collections, jummah etc. On average during the lockdown, the institute has lost income of £4000 a month and with it being a new setup, they do not have cash reserves etc as they have invested continuously into the services and development of the masjid and facilities and are still until today facing the financial impact of it.
