Story
If you didn't know, my Mom had Breast Cancer last year, and thank god she survived it.
She's one of the toughest people I know and it was unbelievably inspiring and humbling to see someone that you care about so much, deal with something so potentially life changing with such a positive attitude.
The chemo didn't even seem to slow her down, on cold wet mornings she's put her coat on and take the dog for a walk, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, just to keep active... Some people end up bed riden for months, not my Mom. She continued to help with various community projects she's involved with, even on what must have been unbelievably dark, miserable days, not knowing what the future might hold for her...
Well it paid off, because after a final grilling of radiotherapy, she's been given the all clear, and to celebrate, I'm going to ride my bike to Cornwall with a few friends to raise some money for Breast Cancer UK so they can continue to help other women out there to survive this evil disease, which when diagnosed early enough, can be treated so effectively.
She's inspired me so much, that next week I'm riding my 2 wheeled machine (my pedal bike) from Staffordshire to Bude in Cornwall in 4 days to raise some cash for Breast Cancer UK
Any donations are hugely appreciated, I think I'll have an extremely sore arse by the time we reach Bude and will need a couple of pints to numb the pain - but it's for such an amazing cause I really don't care.
CHEERS!
