Thank you for considering joining us in the movement to tackle youth homelessness.
What are we doing?
The Oban Chilly Challenge has organised three fundraising events across this February and March:
- On Sunday 27th February Murray Coltham, one of our Paid Media Analysts, will be running the Brighton Half Marathon. If you’re free on the day be sure to join the Oban team in cheering Muz across the finish line!
- Nine Obanners (Sophie, Jules, Susie, Stuart, Laura, Murray, Dan, Dave, and Guillaume) will be braving the frosty sea in mid-March (when sea temperature can get as low as 8°C!) for a Chilly Sea Swim Challenge. The exact date depends on tide and weather conditions. Follow us on LinkedIn for updates @ObanInternational
- If this wasn’t chilly enough, we are also holding a Chilli Tasting Challenge in March that will truly test the tastebuds of our team as they try hot sauces from around the world…
Why is the work of YMCA DLG important?
YMCA DLG works to prevent youth homelessness across Sussex and Surrey. Every night, they provide accommodation to more than 750 young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as well as helping give them the skills they need to create a brighter, independent, future.
How can you help?
If you’re looking forward to seeing some photos of our sweaty or freezing smiling faces in February and March, then please donate. By sponsoring us to take part in Oban’s Chilly Challenge you can make a difference: £10 could buy an emergency overnight package for a young person in temporary accommodation, £20 could provide a homeless young person a bed for the night and £50 could provide a life skills training session.
On behalf of the young people YMCA DLG supports, thank you.
