Oakwood Dog Rescue take in dogs from private homes and pounds with dogs on death-row across the UK and abroad.

Some dogs come with severe physical and psychological problems and scars, but from walking through the doors they can breath a sigh of relief if they knew Oakwood will be there through their recovery, rehabilitation and continued support and safety for the rest of their life in a new home.

Oakwood Dog Rescue is run alongside Oakwood Canine Services dog training centre, with 5 full time qualified behaviourists and trainers to work with the dogs psychological baggage and help them to become well adapted and happy in society. 

The unique set up means that kennelled dogs go for up to 6 walks per day with additional playtime/training time and so are glad to go back to their kennel for a well earned rest! Kennels are fitted with heat lamps, carpet, comfy armchairs, fabric roof canopes and filled with toys, chews and bones. Classical music is also played throughout the day to keep them chilled out. Sociable dogs can enjoy the doggy day-care 7 days per week and run free in the hall with other sociable dogs, chill out on one of the 7 leather sofas, and chase each other around the field in the fresh air.
