Story

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to have a look at our JustGiving page.

In October of 2012 a number of my friends and I travelled to Nottingham to take part in the Men's Health Survival of the Fittest race, a 12 kilometre assault course that follows the River Trent through part of the city. En route to our accommodation the night before however, we got some very sad news; our friend David Stier had fallen victim to what is medically known as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), a condition which, as the name implies, strikes with little to no prior warning and very often seemingly no cause.

On October 11th of this year, nearly two years to the day since David's death, myself and two friends will be travelling to Nottingham again to compete in the same event we ran in two years ago. While all of us have a score to settle with our own pride and want to complete the course in a faster time, we also have a score to settle with the fate that unfairly robbed David's friends and family of him. That's why this time around, we'll be raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), an organisation dedicated to research into the cause of SADS, as well as providing support for victim's families.

We haven't set ourselves a fundraising goal as we understand that money is tight for a lot of people nowadays, but every little helps, and whatever you think you can spare to help our cause would be greatly appreciated. This page will be active and taking donations up until the day of the race, Saturday October 11th.

Thanks again for checking our page out, and for your support.
