Story
On December 15th Northlight will be Pedalling for Prezzies to support The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust this Christmas.
Nobody wants to be alone at Christmas, but that’s what the young cancer patients face as they will be spending their Christmas day in a hospital bed far from home, family and friends. Covid-19 has been tough on everyone in society, especially the most vulnerable. The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust are determined to make sure every teen and young adult cancer patient receives a special gift this Christmas, especially given the restrictions in place at the hospitals. That’s why we’re supporting The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and Pedalling for Prezzies.
The challenge for our team is to cycle 170 miles in eight hours… the Yorkshire leg of the Gift appeal. Every year Laura Crane deliver gifts to young cancer patients hospitalised in 43 specialist hospitals throughout the UK and Ireland. They will be delivering to 45 young people hospitalised in the Yorkshire region. Northlight will be cycling the Yorkshire leg with the aim to raise at least £1200 to help pay for the gifts for these young cancer patients.
Thank you for showing us your support and for helping the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust to give these young people the support they need.
The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust support 13 – 24-year-olds fighting cancer by funding medical and social research specifically into cancers that affect that age group and funding support projects for young cancer patients. They are the only UK charity funding dedicated medical research specifically into cancer affecting teenagers and young adults, where it can frequently strike in dangerous and complex forms. They also fund measures to improve the quality of life for young cancer patients, both during and in the aftermath of their illnesses.
