I am running, to help find a cure for MND and to support people living with this vile illness, which has NO CURE and few treatments... it progressively takes away your dignity, ability to walk, eat, write, move, speak, and ultimately takes your life. 

My Brother Derek was diagnosed in 2012 and died in Jan 2017 (aged 50).  He had a full care team 24 hours, a tracheaostomy machine to help him breath and fed liquid through his stomach, numerous machines and medicines to help survive another day.

I saw the impact MND had on Derek, my sister in law Jennette and their children Ryan and Megan.  

The motor neurone disease association did  great work  to support them.  I wont stop running until we find a cure for this dreadful disease which takes people too soon and too quickly. 

I run as part of a fundraising group called #runmnd - We do this to raise awareness , to raise funds to help with  research and help for people living with this disease and their families.
