Story
Hi All
This year I'm walking 26.2 miles overnight to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Unfortunately Cancer has affected our lives all too commonly. I've seen it at work, and had the misfortune to see it at home. Thankfully I've gotten to see the benefits that treatment can have also. I've gotten to tell patients that their cancer is cured and I've gotten to offer them new chances by taking part in clinical trials. Research is expensive but when 1 in 3 people are diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. How much is really enough?
I've dedicated this walk to my Dad who raised me, supported me through all my studies and made me the Doctor I am today. He believed that anything could be achieved through hard work. So with a little hard work, this marathon should be a breeze, but it's only worth it with the donations that people make along the way. Donations that can change the outcome in the battle against cancer forever.
I would urge anyone who's kindly taken the time to read this to think about donating whatever you can. Don't wait for cancer to reach your life too.
