The Edinburgh Crisis Centre based in Edinburgh opened in 2006 as Scotlands first mental health crisis centre. It provides a free 24hr helpline, one to one support, text service for people in Edinburgh & surrounding areas who are aged 16+ experiencing a mental health crisis/depression/anxiety/may be considering suicide etc. The centre also provides a safe private space for people in distress to recieve support, including overnight accommodation if required. The centre is run by scottish mental health charity Penumbra who will recieve all  donations.

Never more than now has the importance of Mental Health Awareness been talked about, it is something that is on every other advert, radio, social media platforms around the world. This is great news, seeing so many communities encouraging people struggling to "speak up" as its "okay not to be okay", reach out to someone, don't just say I am fine when asked how doing etc, its a wonderful step forward one would think.

Unfortunately/sadly it is not that easy when the depths of despair hit someone struggling with there mental health, this is why facilities like Edinburgh Crisis Centre are so important and need recognition and support for all the wonderful work and the huge impact they make on peoples lifes daily.

I want to raise awareness to this what can be a hidden illness to hopefully help anyone suffering and supporting suffering people that there is actual help/support out there 24/7 and if you need help/support to take the support as I truly wish I had known how ill my mum was who I lost to suicide, no words can describe the pain it left, my beautiful mum gone, gone too soon, gone to young, the last person on earth that I would think would take her life,  reality is anyone at anytime can experience mild to major mental health issues but you can get through it with the right support, so please don't suffer in silence anyone.
