Story
So the September weekend 2011, what shall I do? I know, go to Berlin for the weekend with my best mate. So many things to see in Berlin, how on earth can I do it in one weekend?! I know, run the marathon! So on 25th September 2011 I am going to be running my first (and only!) marathon in aid of CLIC Sargent.
Every day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. Diagnosis often comes as a shock. Treatment usually starts straightaway and can last up to three years. As the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, CLIC Sargent is there from the point of diagnosis and helps the whole family cope with the impact of cancer and its treatment. They offer clinical, practical and emotional support to help as many children and young people as possible survive cancer and make the most of their lives. They help the whole family cope with the trauma of cancer, life after treatment and, in some cases, with bereavement. CLIC Sargent has one simple aim: to ease the impact of childhood cancer on children, young people and their families. I believe this is an extremely worthwhile charity and I am proud to be supporting it.
This will be the longest I've ever run - so please dig deep and donate some coins to help keep me motivated as well as contributing to an amazing charity who really do make a difference to people's lives.
Thanks, Nic xxx
