Woooaah!! Only ten days left until FHTB is upon us!! I must say the nerves are certainly setting in for me now! As they are most definately for Kim, my fellow shavee! Many of the ladies are going from very long waist length hair ..up to their shoulders....and some are going from midlength to very short bobs.... so its a nerve racking time for all of us..lets face it...a girl's hair usually defines who she is...and long haired lovelies have often nurtured their locks for years!! ..So...YOUR donation makes it worth saying goodbye to our trestles..... And remember... although all money raised will go to CRUK ...we are also sending the hair that is chopped to The Little Princess Trust to make wigs for poorly kids who have lost their hair...so its a double whammy!! OKAY EVERYBODY!!!

30 hair donors...2 of which are going the whole hog and shaving the lot of...in order to try to raise as much as we can for CRUK!!!!

Thanks for coming! So, on 22 May our £500 target was reached ...awesome and THANKYOU to all.who have already donated..Wonderful human beings the lot of ya!

Now, with still 4 months to go and having raised £504 in 3 months so far, i figure that we SHOULD get that at least DOUBLED by D-Day!! So i have upped the amount on the target page and would love it if you can help!

I have also added a few piccywicks of some of the hair up for the chop...long haired lovelies who are involved by committing a minimum of 7" of hair ( to be donated for wigs for poorly children) ..doesnt sound much..but it is a great sacrifice for someone with loverly long locks...and every one of the girlies (18 of them at last count!) is excited to be taking part and help collect sponsorship!!

IN ADDITION I have so far recruited FOUR NEW HAIR DONORS! Sadie, Giselle, Jessica and Sarah-Louise have committed a minimum of 7" of the length of their beautiful long locks for donation to the Little princess trust...!!! GISELLE has told me she is tempted to go the whole hog with me and shave her head too....but ONLY if we raise MASSES OF WONGA!!!! SO......GET DONATING!!!!! 

BEST MATES SUPPORT!!....Debbie Mouchi-Whipp has been my best friend since i was SIX and has promised to donate hair too....this means A LOT to me because a) her hair has ALWAYS been her trademark lol...and b) because Debbie's younger sister Dawn is the inspiration behind this whole adventure.. Dawn bravely fought her battle with Cancer on and off for about ten years before it finally stole her from us in 2007..... truly a tragedy..but she taught me so much..how to be brave and laugh through the sadness..... i remember her every day xxx

Well there you are!!!

Yes I know it has been done before, and it will be done again and again, but anybody who knows me knows how nervous i get going to the hairdresser for a simple trim! My hair has been the same for years, long and layered because i am simply not adventurous enough to make any drastic changes!

BUT...IN SEPTEMBER I WILL SHAVE MY HAIR OFF ...we are talking clippers here, number 2 all over.....back to basics..."FROM HAIR TO BARE"!!!

Why?? The statistics say that 1 in 3 of the population will develop cancer of some sort at some time in their life right?

In my life i have personally known 4 people to pass away from this dreadful disease.... and a couple who thankfully have beaten it...

Also, everybody knows somebody who is dealing with the effects of cancer,,either directly as the sufferer, or indirectly as a member of family or close friend.....

When somebody leaves us....the gaping holes that are left behind for the people that loved them take forever to heal.... and anybody who has seen somebody undergo treatment for cancer knows how heartwrenching it can be...and how utterly crushing it can be when the treatment is not enough to save their loved one..
