Story

I am finally getting to do the skydive on 29th July that I had planned to do a few years ago in memory of dad who sadly passed away in September 2010 to cancer. Dads cancer started in his bowel, which then lead to his liver and lungs.

In October 2020 I was diagnosed with coeliac disease and a year later after a period of illness for Eddie he was diagnosed too. This has meant huge changes to our lives and a lot of researching in the process. There is such a lack of awareness from people about the disease and it’s effects, we include ourselves in this before being diagnosed. Failure to follow a strict diet with this autoimmune disease can lead to damage of organs including your bowel and also the development of other serious conditions.

Following dads cancer journey, it is clear how important early diagnosis of life changing diseases is to achieve a more positive outcome. This can only be done through raising awareness of these diseases, their symptoms and their effects.

I welcome any donation, no matter how big or small, but I at least hope this story will help raise awareness of this disease.

Love you & miss you dad.

Nicola xx
