Story

On 2nd November, friends and family of Nicola Ewen are embarking on a 20 mile cycle ride to raise money for JoLt.

Unfortunately, Nicky passed away late last year due to her long-suffering battle with juvenile dermatomyositis. In her memory, we are hoping to raise money to go towards the charity that helped her dream of going to Africa come true - JoLt. Please help us try and pass on the torch and make another young person's dream come true.

JoLt is an incredibly amazing charity run on a totally voluntary basis by a group of ordinary people with families and careers. It was set up in 1983 to make a positive lasting difference to the lives of disabled, ill, neglected and abused young people. Every two years they organise expeditions all over the world for groups of young people (from fourteen to twenty one years) with significant disadvantages. All long to travel to far-away places. JoLt makes their dreams come true.

You can sponsor us on this website or by text: to sponsor by text, send "JOLT77 £X" to 70070, replacing the X with the amount you want to sponsor us.

(e.g. JOLT77 £5)

If donating through JustGiving, remember to tick the Gift Aid box - it doesn't cost you any more but the charity earns an extra 25%.

About the charity

For the past 25 years, the JoLt Trust has taken countless disadvantaged, ill and disabled teenagers on journeys of a lifetime. During these month-long expeditions to remote places like Alaska and the Andes they learn confidence, trust, respect, self-worth and teamwork.
