Story
I'm 2 years old and was born 3 months early at 27 weeks and was very poorly when I was born. Due to my extreme prematurity I suffered severe brain bleeds. Because of this I have hemiplegia, a form of cerebral palsy which affects the right side of my body.
I'm currently trying to walk using a frame, which I find very difficult. To help support Small Steps, my physiotherapy school, during the covid-19 pandemic I'm going to try and walk 26 steps on Sunday in support of the 2.6 challenge!
Small Steps helps pre-school children work on all areas of their development, using the principles of conductive education. The early intervention therapies they provide really help children like me. They make the sessions lots of fun that I don't even realise that I'm doing physiotherapy!
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events for charities, including Small Steps.
Many of these charities have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most; thousands of staff have been placed on furlough and many charities will not survive the next few months.
Please help me raise some money for Small Steps so they can continue the great work they do!
