Story
It's been 13 long years since I beat Breast Cancer. So it came as a huge shock to me and my family when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer AGAIN :(
As everyone starts to get back to a more normal life post Covid, I have a long journey ahead of me. Surgery was on Monday 6th September and I will find out my treatment plan a couple of weeks after that.
I decided to turn this negative into a positive and challenged myself to run 5 km EVERY day from Sunday 18th July until my surgery ( 50 days in total). I did this, not only to try and stay positive and upbeat, but also to raise money for a cause very close to my heart, Alyn Children's Hospital, Jerusalem.
My wonderful son, Daniel ran 5km every day, (on the treadmill on the cruise ship) and also donated ALL his tips.. He finished his last day with a HALF marathon! I couldn't be more proud x
My sister, in Israel, joined me on this mission by swimming 2km every day.
My baby sis did the Couch to 5km and ran 5km by the time of my surgery.
My amazing cousin Asher ran every day in support of Alyn too.
My late mum was a founding member of the "Southport Friends of Alyn" and raising money for this amazing cause is dear to our entire family. Spending time at Alyn Hospital in 2018, on the occasion of Josh's Barmitzvah, reminded us all of the amazing work that Alyn does, treating children and their families from diverse backgrounds and faiths across the entire region. Sadly, these children face far greater challenges than I have, or ever will...
So please, dig deep and sponsor us. No donation is too small (or too large).
