Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
This year I have been given the fantastic opportunity to run at the London Marathon. This event raises so much money for many charities and I thought why not make the most of my place and raise money for a worthy cause.
I have decided to run for Brainstrust following the experiences of a fellow runner at my running club, Fairlands Valley Spartans. I would like to introduce you to Caren Bridgman who will share her story and explain the great work Brainstrust did by supporting her.
'Hi, some of you may know me and some of you may not, I am sharing my story to make people aware of brain tumors...scary word huh?..these tumors are extremely common and kill many people each year especially children.
In 2012 I was diagnosed with an oligodendrogiloma stage 2, I had the tumor removed in 2013 which was a success. This was a very emotional and distressing time for myself and my family, I owe a big thank you to Brainstrust, not only did the give me all the tools and information I needed to understand and cope with the experience. Brainstrust are amazing family run charity and developed from their own experience of having a daughter with a tumour, they help thousands of people every day and are valuable to anyone experiencing this kind of illness'.
