Now is clearly the time to be showing support for our front-line workers, the Doctors and Nurses and support staff at our local hospital, but we believe that it goes way beyond
clapping on our doorsteps at 8 pm on a Thursday evening, as lovely as that is.

You cannot get more front-line than our NHS workers. Those working extremely long shifts, in pressurised conditions in our local hospitals to help us all.

You will not have escaped the sorry pictures of Doctors and Nurses catching a quick break in an uncomfortable chair, taking a well-deserved nap on a staff room floor, or in
some cases, corridor floor?  Some staff also work so many extra hours on each shift that it isn’t even worth them going home in between or indeed some cannot even go home in an attempt to protect their loved ones! Well  we need to help!

Such is their desperation, North Tees Hospital Charitable Trust have made the difficult
decision to commit to a ‘Vans for Bands’ sleeper bus to enable these front line
Heroes take these much needed breaks in comfort. The luxurious bus with
sleeping accommodation is normally used by rock and pop stars as they tour
Europe but is now being put to a much different use. However, at a cost of £500
per day, this would take much needed funds from an already stretched resource,
and indeed they do not know how long it will be before the funds simply run out.

That’s where we (and they) would kindly ask for your help! 

We are looking to raise as much as possible to enable North Tees Hospital to operate the bus without any cost to themselves. So whether that be a daily contribution of £5
in lieu of a couple of cups of Cappuccino that you’re no longer having, £50 per
week in lieu of filling your car with fuel, or a one-off donation no matter how
large or small, it will all help.

We dream of a situation where we can get 100 people to pledge the equivalent of just £5 a day payable on a monthly basis but even a £1 a day topped up with some one off
donations will enable us to achieve our goal.

We’re all aware that this current situation has no end date and we are all in it together but  we think this is a great way for all of us,who need these Heroes, to say Thank You.
