Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A few years ago my cousin's daughter was diagnosed as having Cri Du Chat, also known as 5p syndrome. This is caused by a piece of Chromosome 5 being missing. It is a rare generic disorder that effects 1 in 50,000 new-borns. Cri Du Chat means 'cry of a cat', as children often have a high pitched cry that sounds like that of a cat. The condition is characterised by weak muscle tone, intellectual disability and delayed development, along with many more medical conditions. I wanted to do something for this small worthwhile charity that is so close to our family's heart. Not only to raise money but to raise awareness too.
So I am giving up the ale! Anyone who knows me well will appreciate that this is not a light hearted undertaking! My 30 year love affair with Miss Stella Artois will be on hold for 31 days. That in itself will be a real challenge but to encourage you to donate generously I am also giving up chocolate, crisps, biscuits, sweets (basically any form of confectionary item).
Furthermore if I raise the target fundraising of £1,000 I will extend the period of abstinence by a further 31 days!
So please give generously and remember that you are not only helping a very worthy charity to survive in such difficult times, but you have a chance to pour misery on me for 2 months - which I would say is suitable payback for the things I may have done to annoy you in the past!
Please give generously and thank you very much for your support.
Nick
