Story
When I bought my first bike in 2006 it was inevitably going to come to this: a 100 mile (160km) cycling marathon starting at the Olympic Park and taking in 1,300m of hills in and around Surrey before a sprint finish back on the Mall. There have been a few bikes since, a couple of London to Brighton rides, visits to three velodromes, a dizzying number of laps of Richmond Park, a broken collar bone, countless punctures, and Strava. But during nine years of almost daily commuting I have never got close to something this challenging (or exciting!).
155,000 Londoners commute by bike and who like me enjoy the benefits of cheap, quick, healthy, environmental and reliable journeys to and from work. This is why I am especially thrilled to be riding to support the London Cycling Campaign.
If you want to know any more I'm always happy to talk about cycling, but in the mean time please support me and this great cause by giving generously.
Allez!
