Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On September 6th this year I will start the biggest challenge that I have undertaken in 30 years of cycling and will be raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
The Land's End to John O'Groats bike ride is 969 miles to be covered in 9 days, from the farthest tip of Cornwall to the northernmost tip of the UK.
I will be pedalling on average 108 miles a day and the money that I raise, donated by you, will support the charity partners' pioneering 'Live Well' programme which is currently being rolled out across the UK.
‘Live Well’ is Alzheimer’s Society’s and Alzheimer Scotland’s first national support programme for people with dementia and their carers. Through a series of sessions, it aims to educate people about how to cope with everyday life and how to plan for the future.
Having seen firsthand the impact that dementia has on sufferers, their family and carers I knew this was a great opportunity for me to combine the sport I love with helping a hugely worthwhile cause.
Your donations will be gratefully received and will keep me motivated when getting the miles in in preparation for the challenge.
