Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My amazing daughter Orla was born with Down Syndrome and whilst this isn't by any stretch the struggle that people often think it is, NHS and other services fall woefully short in some areas.
Thankfully, Portsmouth DSA are a truly amazing charity with a much wider regional and national reach than their name would suggest. Orla benefits immeasurably from their services from Speech & Language courses to school visits that guide her teaching staff on how best to teach a child with DS. It's not an exaggeration to say that her development is streets ahead of where it would be without their intervention and it's awesome to see.
So from time to time we like to give something back. And as we are having our 'Christmas' Party this week - which also happens to be World Down Syndrome Awareness Week - I thought it would be a great time to scrounge a bit of cash from my work colleagues on top of what I will be donating! If you won't have any cash on the night then you can donate here in advance or afterwards. Any donation at all would be gratefully received.
