Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for the Neonatal unit at University Hospital Wishaw.
Our son Alfie was born on the 10th of March and after initial examinations from a nurse he was moved to the Neonatal unit and put into an incubator. He had fluid in his lungs and his oxygen levels were lower than where they needed to be.
He was there for 5 days and during this time was being run fed and had oxygens tubes attached to him. It was a difficult time for myself and James but he had round the clock care by an amazing team of nurses and doctors.
They made sure we were kept up to date and reassured us that we could be there as much as we wanted and any time of the day.
It was not how I imagined his first week of life but I want to give thanks to all the staff who looked after him. They could not have done anymore. They deserve to be recognised for the work they carry out in unit not only with premature babies but term babies like Alfie.
The day I got to take my son home was because they had done everything to make sure he was okay and thriving and for that both myself and James are externally grateful and want to give something back x
