Story
For my Bat'mitzvah I have decided I want to raise awareness for the charity Women in Sport. This is important to me because I really love to play sports and I want other girls like me to have an opportunity to enjoy it as much as I do.
When I was in Year 1 (6yrs old) I used to sometimes watch the boys and only one girl play football. I always wanted to join in but I was too scared as none of my friends were there and I would be one of the only girls. By Year 3 (8yrs) I got the courage to start playing football with the boys and then as I got older more girls joined in. I ended up loving football so much I joined a girls football team in Year 4. I want to help make sure there is more diversity in sport and that all girls are not too shy to join in. Everyone deserves a chance to be involved.
I am planning a series of fundraising activities; running every week of October, - my goals is to do a 5k every Sunday morning. I will have a bake sale and will invite friends and family to try my treats for a donation and I will raise awareness in my football team and my Synagogue community. I am so excited to get started!
