Story
Kia Ora and thank you for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
On February 25th I am running the Brighton Half Marathon to raise money on behalf of Team Macmillan Cancer Support, a UK charity that supports cancer sufferers and their families. Sadly, like many, I have lost someone beautiful and precious to cancer.
I am running in memory of a special friend, Tam Huggett Haines, who passed away in January 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Tam was a creative, generous and intelligent woman, a ray of light in this world who’s delight in life was with her to the end. She reminded me, and many others, to extract joy from all things and to connect with people, to value friendship and to cherish family.
The support Macmillan provides, helps families like Tam’s by ensuring they have a safe, private and caring environment to spend their last precious moments with their loved one. Services and charities like Macmillan need support to continue their important work, offering essential services to people affected by cancer, assisting us on these difficult journeys in life. The prospect of doing this without their help does not bear thinking about.
When we support organisations like Macmillan, we directly support people affected by cancer now and in the future.
Please sponsor me to run like the wind through whatever weather, through the pain of loss and the laughter and fear as I contemplate what I have signed up for! Anything you can contribute will help cancer sufferers and will help me cross the finish line.
In memory of Tam, our beautiful blossom. Your gifts are ours to treasure and our love for you is forever.
Thank you
