Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday today and for remembering Nicola in your lovely messages too. As many of you know today is a very bitter sweet day, as it’s another reminder of a year I don’t have Nicola here to celebrate our Birthday together. She may not be here in person but she is here so much in spirit and in our hearts.❤️

As I can’t buy her anything for her Birthday, I have decided to raise some money for Children’s Heartbeat Trust, Children’s Heartbeat Trust was and continues to be a Charity that is very dear to our hearts.

Both my eldest brother Michael and twin sister Nicola were diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease, Michael 2 days after birth and Nicola 6 weeks after birth.

Michael was diagnosed with Left Sided Hypoplastic and sadly passed away at 8 days old. 

Nicola was diagnosed with Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage, Nicola underwent open heart surgery in the Clark Clinic and made a wonderful recovery. Had it not of been for the work of Dr. Craig, his team and the staff at the Clark Clinic Nicola wouldn’t have had the 16 amazing years that she did. Nicola tragically passed away following a collision on our way to school when we were 16 years old.💔

My family have always stayed very much in touch with the Charity. 

For many years as children I remember Nicola, my cousin’s and I fundraising for Heartbeat. 

So in aid of this wonderful charity and to wish Nicola a Happy 28th Birthday, myself and several individuals who were very dear to Nicola and a couple of new faces too have decided to do an abseil in the New Year.

I suppose what I will say is, you never know when you will need a charity like this and I hope you never do but in order for them to provide the amazing support to families and kids diagnosed, they require all of our support.
