Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In January 2020, I was at work when I started feeling a little odd. The day before I'd walked about 4 miles, I was fit and healthy. Over the next few days I lost the ability to walk and thought I'd had a stroke (as did the doctors). After 10 days at Luton & Dunstable Hoospital, CT Scans, MRIs, a lumbar puncture and many blood tests, I was sent home and given a diagnosis of Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. My partner, Matt also has RRMS so I knew what I was facing.
I'm determined to do everything I can, while I can. It may take me longer, it may make me incredibly tired but I like having fun!
I heard about Oceans of Hope through a local WhatsApp Group for people with MS and immediately signed up. I never imagined I would be granted a place as my mobility isn't drastically impaired and I thought I wasn't worthy of a place. The support shown by the volunteer crew and other passengers was amazing...they all felt like family by the end of the day and I hope I'll be able to enjoy many more sailings...I think I've found a new addiction!
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Every little helps, whether it's £1 or £100, thank you.
