In 2019 after having my little bundle of joy and final child Athena, I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. I should have been feeling all the joys of my new bundle, I should have been relishing this baby which would be my last, but I just couldn't. I had the blues after my first, but this felt worse and I couldn't shake the feeling of total inadequacy and hopelessness. I was suffering from Post Natal depression and it was Home-start that came to my aid. Enrolling me in courses, referring me to hypnotherapy and just being a support system when I needed it most. They have been supporting me and my family for 3 years now and it has always been my mission to do my bit to support them right back.

That's just my story, but I know for a fact that there are many more stories like mine where Home-start have helped families; supporting with mental health problems, domestic violence and poverty.
