Story
Our church supports the work of Caring for Life- they do a fantastic work supporting vulnerable people in Leeds both physically and spiritually. Last year several of us enjoyed taking part in the May challenge and it was especially great for the children to see that they could 'do something special' that would help others. At some point in the future we'd love to be able to visit the Caring for Life farm in Leeds- but for now we are going to help to raise money for the work there by doing a May walk-athon. It's a total 130 miles from Holmgate church all the way to the farm and back!! (approx 274,000 steps in total!!) We have our fit bits/ step counters ready and are aiming for 10,000 steps a day :) Hopefully by the end of May, we will have walked all the way to the farm and back!
Hope you can help us reach our target!!
Caring For Life is a charity that has always supported vulnerable people at its Farm base in Leeds. It has adapted its care during the pandemic in order to keep in touch with all those it supports; checking on their wellbeing, mental health, trying to ensure there is some human contact with someone who genuinely loves and cares for them through weekly phone calls and delivering food packages. Although the farm is slowly opening up and outside daytime projects have been able to return, it is still only able to operate at a limited capacity. Please consider donating towards my Every Day In May fundraiser so that Caring For Life can continue their vital work, now, and into the future.
