We are preachers, teachers and pastors to spread the gospel and save souls

Story

We are running the Oxford Half Marathon on 11th October to help raise a total of £100,000 needed to restore the ceiling of Blackfriars Priory, a Grade II listed church.

Over 600 people attend services at Blackfriars Priory, including the Polish community. It is the home of the Dominican order in Oxford, a centre for the communal prayer of the Divine Office, and a place of worship and community for the wider Catholic family in Oxford.

Recently, fallen plaster from the ceiling in Blackfriars Priory triggered an investigation into the church's overall structural soundness. This revealed damage that requires repairs to the ceiling woodwork and support buttresses, as well as the addition of panels to reinforce the existing ceiling frame.  Since May, the Blackfriars have generously shared their own refectory so that the wider community can continue to pray together until the church is made safe once again.

Please be generous in your support, feel free to join us on the run, and come pray with the Blackfriars community!
