Going the Extra Mile
“A moment of suffering is worth a lifetime of glory” – quote from Unbroken’, a true and powerful story.
It began in September 2020…a God ordained idea that no distance would be too far, no lockdown too tight, to stop us reaching even the most closed nations.
Since then, what started small has grown strong and tall; a team of now 41 conquerors have assembled together from around the world to take part in the adventure of a lifetime. And we would love you to be part of it!
On Valentines Day of 2021, we will embark on a daring challenge to walk, run, cycle, swim, skate, hop even skip the distance between two Capital Cities worlds apart: London (of England) and Pyongyang (of North Korea) - a total of approximately 7,268 miles (give or take a mile) via land! This will be a remote challenge, done in our local surroundings, but we will imagine journeying to North Korea the whole while. But why journey to North Korea? And why this challenge!?
Every year, the Christian charity OpenDoors release a World Watch List – an annual ranking of the top 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. For the 20th consecutive year in a row, North Korea has ranked No. 1 once again:

The lack of freedom in North Korean in unlike any other nation. One North Korea said “North Korean citizens are like slaves”. And since COVID-19 hit in 2020, what was already a dire situation had gotten much worse.
To help remember an often-forgotten nation, and to embrace the place where persecution ranks highest, we decided to make North Korea the country we will 'journey' towards. However, the funds raised through this challenge, both on our individual pages and this Team page, will go into a fund to support the most prevalent needs from the top 10 persecuted countries in the 2021 World Watch List. This of course includes North Korea.
Through this challenge, we will be helping the most persecuted of this world receive much needed encouragement, food, medicine, clothes and other important vital supplies. Let’s send our persecuted brothers and sisters a message saying “we have not forgotten you!”
There has never been a time where coming together has been more
important.
Will you join us, support us and be part of the movement?
