Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Inspired by the legacy of local sports hero Steve Prescott, NCC Home Learning have decided to complete a series of challenges to help drum up funds for the charity he created.

The main challenge several of our staff will take on, is a sponsored cycle from Southport to St Helens.

NCC will also be boosting funds for the Foundation ourselves through a series of sports themed events, which include; a charity sports day and the auction of a signed, rare rugby plaque.

Steve sadly passed away last year after a 7 year long battle with rare cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei.

After being given just months to live Steve defied the odds and pushed his body to the limit in a relentless pursuit to raise money for cancer research.

Steve's story has touched the hearts of many and the Charity he created keep his spirit alive and continue the cancer fight.

We want to continue the charity's hard work and would be most grateful for any donations to recognise our stories of blood, sweat and tears from completing the cycle.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund.
