Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

They say hindsight is 20:20. With the benefit of hindsight on the year to come, the benefit of 20:20, I want to have made a difference. Therefore, this year, I’m challenging myself to raise £1 million (1.3 million USD) for charitable and social causes which align to the UN global goals.

I have many plans and schemes supporting my goal, of which I will share an initial three here:

1. Ad sharing. I will be sharing ads either for charities or on behalf of companies who are happy to donate the equivalent online advertising fee to charity.

2. The Great Scots Foundation. I created the foundation, which is a charity registered in Scotland and we’ve just created the first Great Scots Foundation Scholarship program at the University of Strathclyde. We will create other similar programs at schools and universities across Scotland in the coming year.

3. Personal fund-raising. Over the last few years, I have run 6 marathons in order to raise money for charity, raising £25K in the process. This year, I will not only be running races again, but will be offering a range of additional opportunities for sponsorship (all suggestions welcome).

I have one simple ask of you. Please share and forward my post as much as you can. That would be amazing. Of course, if you’d like to make a donation, you can do so directly here on my JustGiving page (yes, please!!!). Thank you!

About the charity

Scotland has a long and proud tradition of producing great innovators and persons of historical interest. The aim of the Great Scots Foundation is to support young Scottish people in Scotland and, in so doing, to empower future generations of Scots to contribute as prolifically as their forebears.
