Story

                         DEFIBRILLATOR APPEAL REQUEST

WOODFORD / CROSS TOWN / GOOSEHAM / WOOLLEY

Recognising the vital importance for early intervention of a defibrillator during extreme circumstances   and the fantastic public support received for the installation of a defibrillator in Eastcott. It has been brought to my attention that a local charity would be happy to help fund for more defibrillators in the above Hamlets.

A defibrillator is its most effective when administered within the first minute of someone collapsing. If used within the first minute, the survival rate can be as high as 90%. If however, a defibrillator is used within the first 3 to 5 minutes, the likelihood of survival drops by 16%, showing that having a defibrillator close by makes a huge difference.”

As we have already exceeded the money for Eastcott defibrillator, the excess of £500 would be transferred over to help the total target figure of £3000 which will then be matched by the local charity.

Therefore we would like to reach out to the residents of  the above Hamlets  and ask if any of you would be willing to either sponsor or donate money towards this amount.  Your donation can be made, prior or no later than 3rd July  either through the JustGiving page of www..justgiving.com/fundraising/Morwenstowdefibrillator, cheque or cash posted into a letter box at the following addresses :

GOOSEHAM.  - David Savage @ Farmers Barn Gooseham

WOODFORD - Nigel Steer @ 3 Woodville Road Woodford

CROSSTOWN/WOOLLEY - Jer & Chrissie Fisher @ The Bush Inn Crosstown OR Bath Cottage Woolley

(All cheques made payable to Jay’s Aim)

Once again we are looking to collaborate with Dan from Jay’s Aim https://www.jaysaim.co.uk,  a local charity installing defibrillators and teaching people CPR across our county and beyond.  Once we have reached our target, Jays Aim will come and install the unit and provide a free training sesson for anyone who wishes to attend.  Please keep
a look out on the Morwenstow fb page and Morwenstow Hamlet website https://morwenstowparishcouncil.co.uk/hamlets
for details.

If the donations exceed the required amount then the
money will be donated to Jay’s Aim for the wonderful work they provide in helping to SAVE LIVES.

Thank you for taking the time in reading this.

Kind Regards
