For more than a decade, I have been proud to be on the board of the YMCA Community Action Project (YCAP) to help lead and support an organization that works to change the lives of at-risk students in Davidson County by offering safe spaces with caring adults to provide academic, emotional, and spiritual support in the face of educational, economic and social disadvantage. In the midst of the rapidly changing neighborhoods and communities it serves and following the March 2020 tornado that destroyed its offices, YCAP has found ways to continue making a difference in students lives.
