Story
August the 12th 2005; The day that my life turned upside down.
That morning I was a normal 15 year old girl, (well I say normal but you all know me). I was sat with my Daddy talking about how he felt better today than he had done in the past 5 years, he told me about the medication he was on and how he was looking forward to lunch with his friends.
I walked with him out to the front gate, gave him a cuddle told him to have fun. He laughed his body shaking laugh, told me that he loved me got in the car and waved to me until he was out of sight. I carried on with my day as usual.
My Daddy suffered a massive Heart attack whilst out to lunch with his friends and died instantly.
My life changed dramatically, I didn’t understand how it was possible for the world to keep turning when it felt like my life was over.
I decided that the Great North Run was an ideal way to raise money for the British Heart Foundation as Daddy was always driving me around the country taking me to all my Running Races, he never missed one race no matter how ill he was, he would always stand at the finish line with a Snickers or a packet of Haribo, and I can tell you for nothing that that gave me a boost for the last 100m! After Daddy died I gave up running as I didn't want to run a race without him cheering me on, or being at the finish line to give me the biggest cuddle and telling me how proud he was. Silly I realise now.
Therefore this will be my First race back since that fateful day in August.
I realise that times are hard, but I would really appreciate any donations no matter how small or large. I want to try and make a difference to another families life.
