Story
On a sunny day in an Oxford park in June, Mizike choir recorded our version of a song written in a refugee detention centre called Never Give Up. The song expresses the positivity that people can find through music even when they are in the darkest of places.
28,000 people are detained every year while they wait to find out if they will be deported from the UK. Held in a prison-like place, music has the power to free their minds and make their voices heard. This Refugee Week, Hear Me Out has asked choirs across the UK to learn this special track. By doing this, we hope to release the words, music and life stories of people held inside. We want to hear them out.
All donations will go directly to Hear Me Out so they can continue their great work with refugees through music.
