Story
The past few years, my nan suffered with myelofibrosis, a type of bone marrow cancer. Sadly, Grannie Annie passed away in July, but before she left us, the Caroline Butcher Foundation kindly offered to fund a trip to the seaside for her.
Grannie Annie loved to spend time at the coast, often going away for a week or so to a caravan in Chapel St Leonards, near Ingoldmells. Unfortunately, at the time she was too ill to accept the offer; however, the kind gesture meant a great deal to us as a family in those dark days.
The idea of bringing the same kind of light to someone else's family feels really important, which is why I'm raising money for the charity by livestreaming Amnesia: Rebirth for 8 hours on Halloween.
"Cancer can bring a family to its knees. No-one can take away the pain; but 'Caroline's Gift' can make the ground a bit softer. We provide financial support for families in Sheffield - and its surrounding area - living with the disease. Because life's about making memories; not making ends meet." - quote from Caroline's Gift
