Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 25th October 2017 i visited Halton hospital under NHS care due to a referral made by my GP only 2 weeks prior to attend an ultra sound scan on a painful lump i had found under my armpit.
This appointment changed my life forever, I naively went to the appointment alone thinking absolutely nothing of it , in my head I was just having a lump checked and refused offers from my mum to come to the hospital with me.
During my appointment I had a biopsy taken and an ultra sound scan, having a laugh and a joke with the nurses and doctors about my up and coming holiday to Mexico that weekend but next came the shock of my life. The doctor began to tell me that i wouldn't be able to fly out to Mexico in 3 days time as planned. He told me without the biopsy results and due to years of experience he could see highly suspected signs of lymphoma.
What did he mean? what is lymphoma? I was confused, was it suspected or did I have it?. One of the nurses took me into a family room to comfort me and explained that lymphoma is visible in the scans and I need to tell my family. The hardest thing in my life I have ever have to do, going home to tell my mum, dad, boyfriend and brother that i have cancer.
What came next from our local NHS was an amazing service that a private doctor I visited told me money can't buy. Within less than 30 days of tests , scans , results and appointments I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma stage 4B cancer and my first chemotherapy session began on the 24th November 2017 - Whirlwind superfast timescales I am so grateful for.
Please help me in my mission to help give back to our local NHS,with their care they are currently saving my life. I am currently at Halton hospital now every Friday for the next 6-10 months under the supervision of my haematology specialist from Warrington hospital. Every week when I am there I cant help think how I would even be fighting for my life without their help. I am the first to admit supporting my local NHS is something I was ignorant of in the past, but now it's all I can think about.

Cancer research is also playing on my mind at all times so I have set up a separate page to split my fundraising between our local hospitals and to help with cancer research
